New Event to Help out Franny,,,, and possibly...
Crossfit Portland is holding a “Bring Your Friend” day where anyone who hasn’t done crossfit can learn first hand what we’re always going on about.
Some things you may learn during the hour and a half: what is a burpee and how to do it, Yes-you can you do a handstand, how long does it take to run around the block, and how many variations of the snatch are there.

Hawthorne Hustle was a great success
Here’s an overview of what went down Saturday morning in downtown Portland.
It was alot of fun and we definitely got some crazy looks, not only from the groups of runners going by but also the wedding party that was trying to take pictures while we were doing the event.

Good article about Adult Stem Cell use in the US
It’s a good article. More and more Doctors are seeing the benefits and low risk of Adult stem cells, and the more people travel abroad to get the treatment, and the more people get the word out, than hopefully more and more Doctors will study and utilize adult stem cells here in the US.

The funds are coming in and everybody that has donated, we wish to thank you so much. It never fails to amaze me how generous people are and always causes me to stop and look at the world in a much more positive light. But, we do have a long way to go. For more info click on the fundraisers link above. This is going to be a great event that will help out our cause but also hopefully introduce people to Crossfit. If anything you can come down and watch something happen on the Hawthorne Bridge that you probably wouldn’t normally see!

Stem Cell information
There are many different types of stem cells and stem cell therapies. Here is a good overview from the National Institue of Health. The Xcell center uses autologous adult stem cells.
Here is a small but informative article from Cornell University about the difference, and possible advantages, of these types of stem cells as opposed to embryonic stem cells.
WatchGreat story about two boys that went to the Xcell Center for treatment. It shows the improvements since getting the treatment. It may not seem like much to people not familiar with CP and its effects, but these are huge gains for the boys and their families.

Franny's background
When Franny was born we were thrilled about our first baby. At about 2 weeks of age, Franny started having seizures. She was hospitalized with viral encephalitis. We spent 5 days in the hospital while they did multiple tests, EEG’s, and more to find out what was going on and try to stop it.
